Question types and settings

For each question you choose under Type what kind of question it is. Below is what each type does.

The question types

  • Single choice: choose one answer from a list (round buttons). Single choice with other option also has an "other, namely" box.
  • Multiple choice: tick more than one answer. Multiple choice with other option also has an "other" box.
  • Drop-down list: choose one answer from a drop-down list.
  • Rank Order Scaling: the visitor puts the choices in order.
  • Short reply: one line of text. Long reply: a large text box.
  • E-mail address, Numeric entry and Date entry: an e-mail address, a number or a date. For a number you can set a Min and Max.
  • File upload: the visitor sends a file along (photos, PDF and Office files).
  • CAPTCHA: a check against spam ("I'm not a robot").
  • Text paragraph: text only, for example an explanation between the questions. Divider: a dividing line.
  • Send E-mail: sends the answers by e-mail. See Receiving answers by e-mail.
  • Submit Button: the send button. Redirect URL: sends the visitor on to another page.
  • Types starting with User or Address (such as User E-mail address, User First Name, Address City) also save the answer in the details of the person filling in the form.

Adding answer choices

  1. Save a question with a choice type, such as Single choice.
  2. In the question, click Add multiple choices.
  3. Type each choice on its own line and click Add Choices. You can also add one choice at a time, with Add Choice.

Settings per question

Under Settings you only see the options that fit the chosen type:

  • Required: the visitor cannot continue without an answer.
  • Page break after this question: the next question appears on a new page.
  • No line break after this question: the next question appears on the same line.
  • Shuffle choices: the choices appear in a different order each time.
  • Layout: choices horizontal: the choices next to each other instead of one below the other.
  • Layout: two columns, Layout: left column and Layout: right column: the position of the question on the page.

With Text you add an explanation below the question. With Hide next to the question you show the field without the question text.
